Truly documenting a wedding may sound simple but not if you want to differentate it from what you may have photographed the week before. That is pretty much my standard, I do not repeat images from weekend to weekend and or from wedding to wedding. It’s not what I promise my clients and it’s not how I stay true to my approach. Now there is a lot of beauty in a wedding, beginning with the bride and her girls. The handsome groom adds to this equation along with the many of family and friends who are all fine tuned to shine on a wedding day. The gorgeous ceremony and reception venues with the many decor details also contribute the final imagery. Now I repeat even if those elements exist it’s not what I only look for.
Then this happens, a brisk sunny November wedding. One that began with a hundred smiles and ended with a thousand hugs. One where you found warmth on this cold day in how this family celebrated the official joining of these two or should I say five! Yes five when you include their three adorable children. I met these little characters in their pyjamas months earlier and look at them now all dressed up. I did not document a wedding, I documented a rare and beautiful time where their children can one day say “I was there”
George Mavitzis Photography | Montreal Wedding Photographer | Griffintown Engagement Shoot
Griffintown was the backdrop of their engagement session which would be featured on their "Save the Date" announcement. Perfect for a Montreal bride and New York groom getting hitched in Montreal this autumn. Coffee with them was a must and this is where I said my good bye......for now.
George Mavitzis Photography | Genuine Montreal Wedding Photography from Outremont Bernard Street to the Windsor Ballroom
The first experience photographing this overly cute couple was at their casual shoot.
I specifically remember how calm and gentle they were with each other and with me. This happily continued throughout their wedding day, and considering they single handily planned and coordinated their Windsor Ballroom wedding, I was in awe and appreciative.
